MSSA has a very active community development program in place to promote microscopy in the Southern African region to young students.

Part of this program is to provide microscopy information as well as microscopes to local primary and secondary schools.

A list of printable microscopy posters are available from this page to demonstrate the versatility of the microscopy applications.

MSSA also sponsors a number of science fairs and offers the contestants various prizes. Some of which include invites to the  annual MSSA microscopy conference held in December. This allows young students to mix with leading scientists in their particular fields of interest. The students also get to see the presentation of scientific papers to enable them to improve their own presentation skills.

With the opening up of new units in neighbouring countries, MSSA is promoting out reach programs to these countries to assist them with training, links to local units and attending our conferences.
